Participation in the UN Global Sustainable Water and Energy Solutions Network

Since 2018, the Sugar Cane Agroindustry of Guatemala, through Association of Sugar Producers of Guatemala -Asazgua-, has been an active participant in the Global Sustainable Water and Energy Solutions Network of the United Nations, Department of Economic and Social Affairs -UNDESA-.

This international network brings together multiple stakeholders from around the world with a common goal: Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to clean water, sanitation (SDG 6), and access to sustainable and modern energy for all (SDG 7).

A global and sustainable approach

The Global Network works with the vision of a world in which water and energy resources are managed equitably and sustainably, promoting human well-being, ecosystem integrity and an inclusive and robust economy. Our participation in this network reflects our commitment to sustainability and international collaboration to address global water and energy challenges.

This space allows the exchange of knowledge, experiences and case studies that demonstrate how the private sector can contribute significantly to sustainable development. Our initiatives and practices in water and energy management support the SDGs and serve as a reference for other industries globally.

Our contribution to sustainable future

By sharing our experiences online, we promote innovative solutions that benefit both local communities and the global environment. Our commitment to sustainability and international collaboration reflects our vision of a future where economic development and environmental preservation go hand in hand.
